Gurgling, lapping, lolling noises,
The peaceful stream is loud and loquacious,
And lying on my back, face up,
The sun sits still and sovereign, surrounded by an audience of green
As from deep within the meadow's tendrils it forms, extending from the peripheral,
A narrow river of sky,
The banks edges blur and shift in the playful gentle breeze,
The warmth which is radiating,
Infuses the skin on my nose and the earth at my back
And the cool stream, from which I have drunk
Is calling me lazily, happily back,
And my once hapless heart is full
You did this.
You lead me here
You know all the good paths
And we take them,
To your credit.
Though, somehow, shadow on the lung looms high
Deep in this canyon, carved from stubborn rock
The walls tower by: scrape sky,
The sliver of sun, has barely begun, to warm the skin as it passes
It can't last.
It cast's now it's shivering shadow.
A sun we once knew, is now taunting you from beyond sight,
The warm memories might kill you, If the fear doesn't fright
Lead me, by hook or by crook, to turn left or right
And I'll fear the less in your love, with you and your might
3 The overflow
And come at last to the feast you have laid out for me,
Before the eyes of all,
Friends and enemies,
The food is flowing fast and free
And there is a place set for me
Eternally,
Your fragrant favour falls
Glistening golden oil,
You have chosen me
And my cup runneth over.
Your goodness and mercy are relentless in their pursuit of me
I don't believe they will ever give up,
They'll chase me down,
Those twin hounds
To the wide open gates
Of your mansion.
I flee inside.
They will never let me leave.
I live here now,
With you,
Forever.
