This is a magic tree
It changes everything
Whispering,
Whispering
I wonder what time will bring
To this school boy's imagining
I wonder what tricks of fantasy
Will dazzle the eyes of those who see
I wonder what hope will grow from here,
The wonderer ends her vagrant year
All fragrance and freedom are flowering now
As she sleeps seduced beneath the bough
In her induced dreams she can clearly see
That this is clearly a magic tree
It changes,
Changes everything
Whispering,
Whispering
Whispering of the velvet thing
Brushing past your ear
Tickles your imagining
Year after year, after sun soaked year,
Whispering, what can you see?
Whispering, do you see me?
Whispering eternally
What is it that you want to be?
The magic tree,
Our magic tree,
Is placed where none
But all can see
It makes the blinded eyes to be
beholding muddied mirrored cheeks
Reflected in spit dried tight-skinned eyes
That show ugliness without compromise,
Whispering, whispering
I am changing everything
The magical reflection
In reality changes only your perception
For what is now was always known but hid
You have merely lifted the lid
This tree is a magic tree
It's never too far away to see
A lightening rod for mystery
a blot for sailors lost at sea
a blot on the horizon's opaque line
Summoning sojourners home in time
What does it change?
Everything
How does it call?
By Whispering
Whispering
It was his purring pulling me in
Drawn to the hum of the hive
This tree has heart
It is alive
And grafted in I will survive
Hung out
Nailed up
engulfed by creaking tree-skin
truncated man-flesh, he is sealing me in
my limbs protrude like ivy creeping
He changes, changes everything
whispering
with his purring
further up
and further in
This childs' drawing
drawing in
in 78
In my family's kitchen
